Ripplecove Hôtel & Spa

Great experience. Lovely old manor on the shore of the lake. Beautiful setting. Older building but well maintained and rooms are spacious and well appointed with nice views of the lake. Nice pool and hot tub facilities and dock with various water toys available for use + pontoon boat to tour guests on the lake. Restaurant is particularly good, a bit unexpected as it rivals those of much higher-end hotels/resorts. Lots of seafood, menu is limited for those that don't eat seafood.

I am giving 3 stars because the hotel looks more like a 4-star hotel with only 3-star service than a 5-star hotel. We stayed at the Ripplecove for our mini honeymoon. We had an absolutely stunning room with a beautiful views. Our kitchen was fully stocked and we had so much space to get settled in. We also found the grounds to be lovely. We were however very disappointed by the level of service. It doesn’t seem as though there are enough staff to keep the grounds and rooms tidy and the attention to detail that usually comes with this calibre of hotel is missing. The pool was full of leaves and sticks and there were cobwebs on the outdoor furniture. You can tell that the outdoor cushions are left out all night and not tidied up in the morning or throughout the day. There is no turn-down service and the room was barely cleaned in the morning. When you run into the staff in the hallways they don’t say hi. The bar was out of basic ingredients like mint for cocktails and bread for the cheese and charcuterie plate before 5 PM. Based on the price and actual level of service we will probably try a new hotel for future visits to this area.
